Clinical Anatomy & Advanced Massage Techniques

Course Overview

Do you want a deeper understanding of what’s under the skin and the most effective techniques for treatment?

If you are a qualified therapist, be it holistic or sports massage, and eager to develop a greater understanding of the applied anatomy behind the most common chronic pain for clients using the most effective, efficient, and advanced techniques, then our Clinical Anatomy & Advanced Massage course is for you.

Refine your grasp of applied anatomy, elevate your hand skills, and acquire new techniques for long-lasting results in client care while safeguarding your hands and wrists from strain.

This two-day masterclass caters to active therapists aiming to revisit and amplify their understanding and massage skills specifically focusing on lower back, pelvis, neck, and shoulders – frequent areas of concern for clients. Comprehensive comprehension of muscular and fascial relationships in these regions is vital.

Develop a detailed understanding of crucial muscles, boney landmarks, interconnecting fascia, and advanced massage methods proven to alleviate discomfort and improve range of motion in clients.

Our course accommodates individual learning speeds, empowering students to bolster their confidence and cultivate practical skills, encompassing palpation and therapeutic techniques.

About Your Tutor(s)

Chris Phillips

Principal-Director-Tutor

The Academy has a proud history as a private training provider in the complementary health sector for the last twenty five years.

One of my core beliefs at The Academy concerns training standards. I believe there is a real need to further raise and develop credibility in our industry, so that more clients can benefit from high professional standards. We can contribute to this by sharing our knowledge and working experiences with each other. This is the main drive behind my weekly evening groups; Thursday Evenings.

I trained as a Massage and Sports Therapist in 2000 and have been developing my private practice from my home just outside Northleach in the Cotswolds ever since. In 2006 I completed my Certificate in Further Education Teaching (CFET1) and I have been teaching Sports and Remedial Massage ITEC Level 3 & 4 here at the Academy since. I have a background of working with young troubled people and their families in a therapeutic setting, both as key worker and as a manager and supervising and training staff.

Testimonials

Just a quick email to say a very big thank you for another great course!  I really enjoyed the Advanced Massage with Chris and meeting other new people during the two days.  It was brilliant to be back at the Academy and see all the smiling faces again after far too long.  You all make it so welcoming and the courses are always delivered in such a fun way too – no dry and dull lessons with you lot! I learnt SO MUCH and it has boosted my confidence and given me new skills and consolidated stuff I knew so HUGE thanks to everyone!

Millie | Advanced Massage & Clinical Anatomy | July 2021

I wanted to write and thank you for the Advanced massage course that you ran last Monday and Tuesday (10th&11th February), it was 'just what I was looking for' even though I wasn't sure completely what to expect.  However, I learnt new techniques and extra knowledge, to go with the flow and trust my instincts, as is always with the courses you run it was all delivered in a fun and relaxing learning environment.

Since attending I have used lots of my new skills with my MS (Multiple Sclerosis) clients, necks, shoulders and lower backs are always the areas I am asked to work on, I have had some amazing feedback 'that's different to what you usually do', 'my back has never felt this good', 'you provide such relief, thank you'.

Thank you once again and I look forward to joining you again at some point.
