Course Overview
On this course, you will delve deep into the realm of sports-specific posture and gait, gaining a nuanced understanding of how these elements influence athletic performance. Explore the intricacies of the gait cycle, dissecting each phase to uncover the subtle nuances that can make or break an athlete's stride. Through hands-on exercises and interactive lectures, you'll master the methods used to analyse gait, from traditional observational techniques to cutting-edge motion capture technology.
Unravel the complex interplay between foot deformities and gait mechanics, learning how abnormalities in foot structure can reverberate throughout the entire kinetic chain. Gain insight into common gait abnormalities, from pronation to supination, and discover effective interventions to mitigate their impact on movement efficiency and injury risk.
Moreover, you'll uncover the profound effects of postural deformities on sporting performance, examining how deviations in alignment can compromise biomechanical efficiency and predispose athletes to injury. By honing your ability to recognise and address postural imbalances, you'll empower athletes to unlock their full potential and perform at their peak.
