Trigger Point Therapy

Course Overview

FHT Accredited Courses

Trigger Point Therapy provides effective relief from pain and tightness by targeting taut bands (often described by clients as ‘knot’s) within soft tissue that cause localised or referred myofascial pain. These troublesome knots are addressed during the therapy, offering clients rapid relief.

Our two-day Trigger Point Therapy course delves into the essence trigger points, their formation within soft tissue, the mechanics of trigger point release, pain referral patterns, techniques to locate these points, and effective treatment methodologies.

This comprehensive Trigger Point Massage workshop is tailored for therapists seeking to enhance their understanding of anatomy, refine their manual skills, and grasp the intricacies of trigger point therapy.

Testimonials

The fantastic energy and knowledge of our instructor and the superb information and coaching! I am a communication skills trainer myself (30 years) and Tamara was top drawer!!

Arthur -  Trigger Point Therapy | June 2024

Just to say thanks again for a brilliant couple of days' training last week.

In the three clinics I have held since Tuesday, I have already used my newly acquired techniques with fantastic results to resolve pain patterns that I was able to recognise following your guidance.

I also advised another parent in the school car park, on self-administering trigger point work to her infraspinatus for referred pain and reduced mobility, which had failed to be treated after months of regular physio sessions and rehab exercise advice - two days later she messaged me to say that her pain and mobility were both at last improving, amazing!

I think I'll be coming back several times until I've worked my way through all of your CPD courses, as the content is spot on and it's a lovely place to spend a couple of days!

What a great course! Tamara was fantastic, full of energy, enthusiasm knowledge. You could tell from the way she put the subject across that she is passionate about the it. Tamara made sure we all got involved, we all took a turn as 'a body' and when we were practising the techniques, she had the time and patience to go over it again and make sure we understood what we were doing and that we were on the right muscle or body part.

The teaching aids available, such as the Smart board, the PowerPoint Slides, the interactive Muscle app that she used to show movement and strip away the muscles were brilliant. I'm going to pay for that myself, it will be very useful to show clients. There were also skeletons and bone structures that brought it all to life and made it easier to visualise the bony landmark structures. The PowerPoint slides were sent to us after the course, which is very useful to look at again in slower time.

The Cotswold Academy in Cirencester is a great place to learn, it's a lovely building with great facilities, friendly staff and is just a short walk into Cirencester for a coffee or sandwich at lunch time.

I can thoroughly recommend the course, and I would imagine the other courses they provide would be equally as professional, educational and enjoyable.

Well done to all of you at Cotswold Academy and Tamara especially.

I have been meaning to get in touch all week to say how much I enjoyed the Trigger Point Course last week.  Well done Cotswold Academy for making it all feel so welcoming and "normal" as  possible in these mad times we are living in.  I learnt so much and really enjoyed it too, and it was great to meet some lovely people and learn from them as well. As always at CA it was great teaching but lots of laughs along the way - very important!

Please can you tell Chris that I have just had someone who came in saying they had been diagnosed (over Zoom) by doc with Achilles tendonitis and I was not convinced it was the problem.   I did trigger pointing on his gastrocnemius and soleus and on up into the hamstrings and he went out like a new man!  So HUGE THANKS to T and Chris for their expert tuition - it felt so good sending out a happy customer!
