Course Overview

This course is designed to enhance your understanding and practical skills in addressing pelvic mobility and lower back pain associated with anterior pelvic rotation.

Through pre-course online learning, you'll explore pelvic anatomy, covering key bones, muscles, and joints, and introduces the concept of pelvic alignment, specifically anterior tilt and its impact on posture and movement.

Participants will delve into the relationship between anterior pelvic rotation and lower back pain, learning to identify this and how to work with clients to help alleviate pain related to this.

The core of the course focuses on hands-on massage techniques for the major muscle groups crossing the pelvis, such as the hip flexors, hamstrings, adductors and glutes as well as lower back muscles including quadratrus lumborum and erector spinae group.

Ideal for massage therapists, sports massage therapists, and body workers, this course equips you with the essential tools to improve pelvic mobility and alleviate pain effectively.

Course Syllabus

• Review basic anatomy of the pelvis and lower back
• Understand and locate main boney landmarks of the pelvis and lower back
• Understanding lower back pain in relation to anterior pelvic rotation
• Hands-on massage techniques for working on muscle groups crossing the pelvis
• Massage application prone, supine and side-line to access muscle groups
• Applying appropriate towel management for safe and comfortable treatments

Assessment Criteria

Assessment Criteria

You will be assessed throughout the day to ensure you are providing safe treatments. You will receive your Cotswold Academy Certificate of Attendance at the end of the day to take away with you.

Certification and CPD Points: 

Cotswold Academy Certificate of Attendance - 5 CPD points per day

Entry Requirements

In order to take part in this course, you must already have acquired a massage based diploma such as Level 3 Diploma in Massage / Aromatherapy / Sports Massage or equivalent such as Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic or Accupuncture. We will ask you to provide a copy of your qualification. Please enquire if you are uncertain about your qualification.
