Finding & massaging the scalenes using the thoracic triangle to release tension held in the shoulders

A really effective way of releasing tension held in our neck and shoulders is to locate and work on the scalenes.

The scalenes are a group of three pairs of muscles in the lateral neck; anterior scalene, middle scalenes and posterior scalene. They fan out from the sides of the neck and attach onto the ribs above the collarbone.
