What is the Sternocleidomastoid, what does it do and how can we locate it?
Here we share a reminder of what the sternocleidomastoid is, where it is located and what it does...
The sternocleidomastoid (SCM) is a muscle located in the neck that attaches to the sternum, clavicle, and mastoid process. It is one of the most prominent muscles in the neck and is easily visible when the head is turned to the side. The SCM has several important functions, including rotation of the head to the opposite side, flexion of the neck, and extension of the head.
